Water management is an important consideration. Proper system design includes using high‑efficiency pads, recirculating water, and incorporating filtration and bleed‑off to control mineral buildup. In areas with water scarcity, careful planning, rainwater harvesting, or integration with industrial process water can help optimize consumption.

From a sustainability perspective, evaporative coolers align well with Africa’s growing focus on green industrialization. They use no ozone‑depleting refrigerants, have a lower carbon footprint, and can be powered by on‑site solar installations to further reduce dependence on unstable grids.
